The hammers are external, allowing for easy modulation of the action with the compact barrel. This 12GA was specifically designed for the Canadian market to feature a robust and compact design in a NON-RESTRICTED package. Weighing in at 5.4lbs and just 25” in overall length, this shotgun is small enough to be carried in a pack or in the optionally available leather belt holster. Barrel is easily removed from action for stowage in bug-out bag or survival kit, with longest portion only 16.5" in length. The compact dimensions also makes the SC-215 a great compliment for smaller statured and beginner shooters when combined with 1.75” mini shells. The Type 81 is a gas operated, magazine fed, semi-automatic rifle. It uses a short-stroke gas piston, located above the barrel, and a two-position gas regulator. The bolt group (of the rotating bolt type) is borrowed from the Type 63 rifle. Type 81 rifles also retains the Type 63 bolt hold-open device, which catches the bolt in the open position after the last round has been fired from magazine. The fire selector – safety switch is located at the right side of the receiver, just above the pistol grip, and can be easily operated with the right hand thumb. The open sights are marked from 100 to 500 meters, with the front sight being mounted just ahead of the gas block. Developed by the Chinese military as a replacement for their Type 56 rifles (license produced AK-47). Was designed to have a longer service life, higher accuracy, improved durability and better controllability in full automatic firing. The Type 81 is used by multiple military and police forces across the globe. Important Notes: There is a second trigger stop screw included in the delivery kit, the one installed in the firearm is too long. The use of blue loctite is recommended for both the trigger stop screw and the threaded scope mount pins, to retain position during repeated use. During testing some occasional shell casing deflections were noted on sunshade, however the deflections were secondary and no noted impact to POI was observed. Some light casing marks may develop over use on sunshade that are only aesthetic in nature. The accuracy potential of the SR is very ammunition dependent, with best results achieved with Hornady Black 123 GR SST and American Eagle 124 GR FMJ, (av. 5 shot groups at 100 yards@ 1.5-3 MOA). Mixed results observed with other brands. 100 round break-in period was observed, whereby groups began to tighten up further after that point.
