Ant is the most compact of the Extrema Ratio folding knives. Despite its small size, this model has an extremely robust, resistant and reliable structure. The handle is made up of two different elements: the grip made of anodized anticorodal aluminum and the tempered steel frame which also performs the function of locking the blade (Frame Lock System). This mechanism requires that part of the frame is folded inwards, firmly fixing the blade in the open position, increasing the operator's safety when using the knife. On the tang there is a slot for inserting a lanyard, on the right side of the handle there is a steel clip that allows concealed carry in the pocket. Ant is available in 4 versions with two different types of steel both supplied by Böhler, an Austrian company with which Extrema Ratio has been collaborating for more than 20 years using its proven materials for the production of its blades. The Ant Black and Ant Black Stone Washed versions use Böhler N690, hardened to 58 HRC for the best balance between edge retention and strength, a type of steel used by Extrema Ratio for the majority of its knives. For the Rescue Red Stone Washed and Black Stone Washed versions M390 Extrema Ratio uses Böhler M390 steel heat treated to 61 HRC which, thanks to a powder metallurgical production process, guarantees cutting effectiveness, resistance to wear and tear over time. RESOLZA is an ancient name, reminiscent of the italian word for razor. The centuries old Sardinian "resolza" is one of the best-know traditional knives in our country - to this day it's been the constant companion to island farmers and shepherds in their everyday work. It followed them even when they were called to war: chronicles of the Sassari Brigade during World War I mention the knife as part of the troopers' equipment. Our attempt to revisit this traditional design according to our own standards is meant as a tribute, not to disregard Sardinian craftsmen still practicing the old ways of knife-making and keeping ancestral traditions alive.

This series of extremely compact folding knives is the result of interaction between Extrema Ratio and the military and police with whom we collaborate. The intention was to create a folding knife for everyday use, simple, essential and functional. The basic folding knife: the BF1 (Basic Folder n°1). There are two blade patterns: Tanto and Drop. All the blades are burnished through zirconium carbonitruration, the handles are burnished through anodization. The blades have flat grindings and the points are especially thick and resistant (a characteristic peculiar to this series). The "Classic" handle is full with the characteristic lowered flat zone to enable the use of the opening "pin" without emerging from the profile of the closed knife. The clip is another innovation, it is reversible, positioned on the back of the blade and hugging the tang of the knife so that when the knife is inserted in a pocket the tang does not stick out and only the clip is visible. The resolza is today one of the most famous traditional knives of our country. Its name has ancient origins and recalls the razor. This model was firstly produced in Sardinia some centuries ago and it has attended the island farmers and shepherds in their daily works. It followed them even when those men were called to war. The chronicles of the Sassari Brigade during World War One quote this knife in each soldier outfit. We want to make a tribute revisiting this knife following our standards. In doing this we do not want to hurt any prestigious Sardinian craftsman who still hands down tradition and wisdom of his ancestors. The handle, in the new “Tactical grey” color, is composed of 2 full scales with the characteristic lowered surfaces to engage the opening “pins” without them protruding from the profile of the closed knife. It is the non-automatic version of the tactical knife that Extrema Ratio has supplied to the G.O.I. (Operational Raiders Group) of the Italian Navy. The blade is a 4 mm thick asymmetrical spear point. The serrated part of the edge allows to cut highly-resistant cables and fabrics without losing its sharpening. The bottom part of the handle is designed to enhance the grip for a rapid extraction of the knife from the pocket. It is also equipped with a hard-metal glass breaker.
