MF1 EVO represents the evolution of the historic MF1 folding knife. This revolution embraces the new design philosophy of Extrema Ratio, combining aesthetics and functionality in an innovative way. It is not simply a stylistic revisitation, but an improvement in performance, which keeps intact the essence of a tool designed to face the most demanding challenges. With MF1 EVO, the range of colors, blades and steels available is also expanded, offering even greater versatility to meet every need.
The handle is composed of two finely crafted anodized aluminum scales, on which Extrema Ratio applies the hard oxidation treatment, which makes the handle more resistant to wear and corrosion. The handle is equipped with a rear glass breaker in hard metal. Two steel frames contribute to increasing the strength of the entire structure, making MF1 EVO suitable for tackling the most demanding uses.
The reversible steel clip is designed to allow concealed carry in the pocket, making the knife invisible from the outside.
The blade locking mechanism is the LINER-LOCK, supported by a new generation “HIDDEN LOCK” safety system, compact and lightweight, to be operated manually.
MF1 EVO is available in 6 variants with two different types of steel, both supplied by Böhler, an Austrian company with which Extrema Ratio has been collaborating for over 20 years using its proven materials for the production of its blades.
MF1 EVO D BLACK , MF1 EVO D TACTICAL GREY and MF1 EVO SP TACTICAL MUD use Böhler N690, hardened to 58 HRC for the best balance between edge retention and strength, the type of steel used by Extrema Ratio for most of its knives.
For the MF1 EVO D BLACK SATIN M390 , MF1 EVO D RED SATIN M390 and MF1 EVO SP BLACK M390 versions , Extrema Ratio uses Böhler M390 steel heat-treated to 61 HRC which, thanks to a powder metallurgical production process, guarantees cutting effectiveness, wear resistance and oxidation resistance over time.
MF1 EVO offers two blade profiles, each suitable for different contexts of use. The drop point blade is ideal for those looking for a versatile and precise knife, particularly suitable for urban and outdoor environments. Its balanced shape and rounded tip make it a good choice for everyday activities, such as cutting light materials or managing small emergencies, ensuring a good compromise between robustness and handling.
The spear point blade is particularly suitable for tactical environments, where high penetration and robustness are required. Its central and sharp tip makes it ideal for dealing with more demanding situations, where precision and control are essential for effective operation.
