The OMEGA is a brand new advancement over the aging PVS-14 standard. Now featuring a new ultralight design, weight is down 25% from 350g to 260g from standard PVS-14. The Field of View is also increased over 25% from 40 degrees to 51 degrees. Increased operating temperature range from -40C-+50C to -51C-+49C and reduced overall dimensions. The unit features a Full Diopter Adjustment Range, Infrared LED, Gain Control, IR/Low Battery Indicator, flip up turn off and flip downturn on system and the capability to be hand-held, mounted on the helmet, headgear or weapon. The PVS-14 OMEGA operates with just 4 controls, similar to the AN/PVS- 14: one button for power on/off, one button for turning on and off the IR LED, and two switches (+/-) for raising and lowering the Gain Control. As per industry standard, some spots, dots, chicken wire or other cosmetic imperfections are allowed by tube manufacturers for commercial grade image intensifier tubes (CGT). Milspec grade image intensifier tubes have higher standards for cosmetic imperfections.
