The Extrema Ratio Misericordia, adopted by the 4th Alpine Ranger that helped develop and test the product. It is a tactical fixed blade knife, extremely light and compact, it can be used both as a main knife or as a backup blade. The blade of the new Extrema Ratio Misericordia is milled out of Böhler N690 steel, hardened at 58 HRC, it is 118 mm/4.64” long and 4mm/0,16” thick and plain edged. The blade has a spear point profile with full length fuller that makes the knife even lighter, with a ¾ length false edge. The blade is available with the classic Extrema Ratio MIL-C-13924 black finish. On the rear end the handle flows connecting with a large ring, which allows the use of martial arts techniques and permit a very solid grip to the hand, equipped with a "skull crusher" appendix in hard metal. The knife overall weight is just 87g/3.1oz. Being a knife designed and intended for professional use, high relevance has been assigned to ease of carry, access and extraction in case of need. The knife is secured to the sheath by a fast release safety that can be easily reversed for left hand use. The high impact nylon sheath is versatile: an adjustable double clamp system enables the user to fit it to various types of belts. A cone shaped inlet eases the knife’s sheathing, while pressing on the trigger-like safety lever allows for a fast, instinctive knife extraction. An optional kydex sheath (sold separately) is also available, equipped with two textile (male velcro strip on one side and female velcro on the other) to wear the knife hiddenly between a bulletproof vest and a magazine holder. The Extrema Ratio Frame Rock is a new knife, based on the design of the Ti-Rock, a successful framelock custom made knife that Extrema Ratio has realized for a renowned Italian distributor. The Extrema Ratio Frame Rock is characterized by the titanium grip that offers great toughness and yet is very light. The frame lock integrity and duration are guaranteed against wear by a heat-treated steel insert that can be easily replaced. Differently from its drop-point predecessor, the Frame Rock has a spearpoint blade, 3” (75 mm) long, 0.23” (6.0 mm) thick, fullered for further lightness. The blade is in Bohler N690 steel, heat treated to 58 HRC. It can be had in black with DLC treatmet or stone washed finish. To make opening even smoother and effortless, the blade pivots on ball bearings. This mechanism allows the user to adjust the force needed to free the blade from the closed position thanks to a screw. The shape of the reversible clip allows a hidden port in the pocket, making the knife not visible from the outside. The grip, large and well proportioned and the stocky blade allow it to tackle heavy tasks. The Frame Rock weighs just 9.6 oz (270 g) making it quite light for such a robust knife. incorporates a mechanism that allows the user to adjust the force needed to free the blade from the closed position thanks to a screw. A counter screw secures the adjusting screw in place after it has been set to the desired position. The reversible clip with lightening holes is designed to allow deep pocket carry, with as little as possible of the knife visible from the outside. Scallops milled in the grip facilitate one handed opening via the classical ambidextrous stud on the blade, and facilitate grip transitions. The knife overall length of 7.1” (181 mm) places it in the range of medium sized folders and the solid, large grip and well proportioned, stocky blade allow it to tackle heavy tasks without fear of failure. EXTREMA RATIO E.C.M. (Einsatzkommando Cobra Messer) is a fixed blade multipurpose knife, designed for operational uses for the renowned special unit Einsatzkommando “Cobra” of the Austrian police, whose logo is laser engraved on the heel of the blade. Extrema Ratio E.C.M. combines the features of a useful tool to the ones of a reliable blade, in a compact configuration with a total weight of 240g. The blade is built in Böhler N690 steel, hardened to 58 HRC and is 116mm long, 5mm thick and flat wire. The profile of the blade is of the modified spearpoint type, with a false counter-thread ¾ in length on the back and a lower guard to protect the hand during use. Both the guard and the knob have holes to facilitate the fastening of the knife to various tools or for the passage of laces. The blade has a surface coating in DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) Carbon-based making it hyper-resistant to abrasion and chemical aggression.
