The rifle was designed with a number of changes over the standard Type 81 to support its role including: • Heavy profile barrel for increased accuracy • Thumbhole stock for better ergonomics in precision shooting positions (including reversible cheekrest for LH shooting) • Flat bottom extended handguard for more stability when shooting from rested surfaces • 5 Round waffle-pattern magazine for bench and prone shooting capability • Threaded muzzle for attachment of optional accessories • Adjustable trigger stop screw for added precision • Lightened trigger pull weight for added precision Offered in deep blued finish over satin-finish wood stock, with threaded receiver pins ready to accept side-mount optics. The Type 81 is a gas operated, magazine fed, semi-automatic rifle. It uses a short-stroke gas piston, located above the barrel, and a two-position gas regulator. The bolt group (of the rotating bolt type) is borrowed from the Type 63 rifle. Type 81 rifles also retains the Type 63 bolt hold-open device, which catches the bolt in the open position after the last round has been fired from magazine. The fire selector – safety switch is located at the right side of the receiver, just above the pistol grip, and can be easily operated with the right hand thumb. The open sights are marked from 100 to 500 meters, with the front sight being mounted just ahead of the gas block. Developed by the Chinese military as a replacement for their Type 56 rifles (license produced AK-47). Was designed to have a longer service life, higher accuracy, improved durability and better controllability in full automatic firing. The Type 81 is used by multiple military and police forces across the globe. Important Notes: There is a second trigger stop screw included in the delivery kit, the one installed in the firearm is too long. The use of blue loctite is recommended for both the trigger stop screw and the threaded scope mount pins, to retain position during repeated use. During testing some occasional shell casing deflections were noted on sunshade, however the deflections were secondary and no noted impact to POI was observed. Some light casing marks may develop over use on sunshade that are only aesthetic in nature. The accuracy potential of the SR is very ammunition dependent, with best results achieved with Hornady Black 123 GR SST and American Eagle 124 GR FMJ, (av. 5 shot groups at 100 yards@ 1.5-3 MOA). Mixed results observed with other brands. 100 round break-in period was observed, whereby groups began to tighten up further after that point. It features a unique folding receiver design that allows the shotgun to be easily reduced in size to just 24” for compact and convenient transportation and storage. The front sight is fiber optic while the rear is u-notch, aiding in fast target acquisition. In front of the rear sight is a top mounted picatinny rail, machined into receiver for ultimate durability. The detachable magazine also allows for easy and rapid unloading and reloading over conventional tube type systems. Magazine seating is straight insertion style and drop free, allowing for smooth and simplistic reloads. The Extrema Ratio Misericordia, adopted by the 4th Alpine Ranger that helped develop and test the product. It is a tactical fixed blade knife, extremely light and compact, it can be used both as a main knife or as a backup blade. The blade of the new Extrema Ratio Misericordia is milled out of Böhler N690 steel, hardened at 58 HRC, it is 118 mm/4.64” long and 4mm/0,16” thick and plain edged. The blade has a spear point profile with full length fuller that makes the knife even lighter, with a ¾ length false edge. The blade is available with the classic Extrema Ratio MIL-C-13924 black finish. On the rear end the handle flows connecting with a large ring, which allows the use of martial arts techniques and permit a very solid grip to the hand, equipped with a "skull crusher" appendix in hard metal. The knife overall weight is just 87g/3.1oz. Being a knife designed and intended for professional use, high relevance has been assigned to ease of carry, access and extraction in case of need. The knife is secured to the sheath by a fast release safety that can be easily reversed for left hand use. The high impact nylon sheath is versatile: an adjustable double clamp system enables the user to fit it to various types of belts. A cone shaped inlet eases the knife’s sheathing, while pressing on the trigger-like safety lever allows for a fast, instinctive knife extraction. An optional kydex sheath (sold separately) is also available, equipped with two textile (male velcro strip on one side and female velcro on the other) to wear the knife hiddenly between a bulletproof vest and a magazine holder.
